BALLARAT’S Rebellion Brewing is officially Australia’s best gluten-free beer – arguably the best in the world – following an unprecedented result in this year’s Australian International Beer Awards.
The brewery’s full-flavoured O’Brien Belgian Ale, made using millet and sorghum rather than the usual malted barley, won a gold medal in the gluten-free class, the first time in the competition’s 21-year history that any gold has been given out in this category.
Rebellion’s Brown Ale, Pale Ale and Premium Lager – all gluten-free – picked up silver and bronze medals.
